Broken Highways is HCZV FIRE first album. It was entirely home recorded in a pure DIY way : one cheap microphone on a personal computer, lots of homemade samples, and a few field recordings.
Many songs were made over a quite long time, between 2000 and 2006, but remained silent and forgotten on my hard drive until I eventually decide to sort the tracks, reject some and gather the rest to a coherent album.

It took the shape of a soundtrack for a virtual post apocalyptic film, whose theme is summed up in the cover art and title : highways are destroyed and we now travel on dark isolated roads looking for lost lights of civilization while the world falls in obscurantism and superstition.

I was greatly inspired by the work of Mark Morgan on the video game serie "Fallout", which I played a lot at this time ...in fact the game in itself was the main inspiration, and keeps being.

Instruments : acoustic guitar, electric bass, didgeridoo, ocarina, rain stick, harmonica, anything that could produce interesting sounds.
